Alright, so here's where it all went wrong...

Just kidding. Hi! My name is Gates Annai. I’m a life-long writer and aspiring author, drop out filmmaker, and enthusiastic dog-lover (ask me about my super-mutt Elsie if you want to talk for three hours). Okay, I was also joking about the drop out thing, I technically graduated with a diploma (if you must know). But despite my bachelor degree in film coming to an abrupt end, I still learned a deep sense of storytelling not just in film and TV, but for novel writing as well, and I imbue those lessons into every step of my own writing.

 

What do I write, I hear you ask? I appreciate your interest. Typically contemporary YA gothic with queer themes and misunderstood girls. I always seem to be asking where we belong in the universe, and what power do we have--in society, in our destinies, and in the grander threads of time. I aspire to make my books that place of belonging--to gently say that you are where you are meant to be; you always have been. I also hope to make you laugh while I do it.
